Koppelman, together with Richard Faris, co-founded Primavera in 1983 with the vision of creating project management software for the IBM PC and revolutionizing the way people plan and control projects. Koppelman coauthored the Project Management Institute’s (PMI) best-selling book “Earned Value Project Management” with Quentin Fleming. Other awards include his inclusion in the Drexel University 100, the “Award of Merit” from the Association for the Advancement of Cost Engineering (AACE) and the “Distinguished Contributor Award” from PMI. He also serves on the advisory board for Vesta Partners, a maintenance management and enterprise asset management technology services company based in Stamford, Conn.
The Ernst & Young Entrepreneur Of The Year Award recognizes outstanding entrepreneurs who are building and leading dynamic and growing businesses. The program honors entrepreneurs through regional, national and global award programs in over 125 cities and 40 countries.
As a Greater Philadelphia Region award winner, Koppelman is now eligible for consideration for the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur Of The Year 2008 national award, which will be announced at a gala event in Palm Springs, California on November 15, 2008.
